Despite the modest, slightly overheated space, this tantanmen shines. The broth is bold, rich, and packed with umami—truly one of the standouts in the city. The spiced tamago was a nice surprise, and the noodles hit the perfect texture. Even under Barcelona’s summer sun, some of us gladly sweat it out for a bowl this good.

A flavorful miso ramen with a well-balanced and satisfying broth. The chashu, although sliced very thin, was surprisingly tasty and still had a nice bite to it. A solid bowl overall that delivers on flavor and consistency, even if it doesn’t reach the same level as their tantanmen.

A flavorful bowl with a broth that leans slightly too salty for my taste, though still enjoyable overall. The noodles were perfectly cooked and held up well. I’m not usually a fan of shrimp wontons, but these were surprisingly good and well executed. A solid option, even if not my personal favorite style.

Another visit to Ippudo, this time trying their Spicy Tantanmen. Great news: tamago can now be added! While the egg was well-cooked and tasty, I missed the depth of a proper marinade—but it’s a welcome addition nonetheless. The broth was rich and beautifully balanced, with the right touch of spice and sesame notes that define the style. Compared to the pork-heavy Shiromaru and the garlicky Akamaru, this bowl delivers a different kind of punch—spicy, layered, and highly satisfying.

Another bowl at Ippudo, this time going for the classic. The broth was more pork-forward, standing out without the black garlic oil and umami paste that define the Akamaru. Same toppings (and sadly, the same absence of tamago), but still an excellent experience overall. The presence of Japanese staff adds an authentic touch that elevates the visit.

Easily one of the best Hakata style tonkotsu bowls I’ve had in Spain—rich, powerful, and deeply satisfying, instantly transporting me back to Japan. The chashu, although sliced very thin, was still delicious and flavorful. The only real downside was the lack of tamago (at least by now). Still, the broth was absolutely sublime, and I’ll definitely be coming back for more.

The ramen arrived quickly and in generous portions, featuring a creamy, well-balanced broth—flavorful without being overly salty. The chashu was the real highlight: tender, abundant, and full of depth. The space is bright and minimalist, and the staff were friendly and efficient. Solid choice for a classic tonkotsu bowl in Barcelona.

Back at Ippudo to try their chicken chintan ramen. Exceptionally flavorful, with a clean yet deeply savory broth that highlights the clarity and finesse of this style. The noodles were excellent and paired beautifully with the soup. Another refined and satisfying bowl in an impeccable setting.
